Spanish

Our Spanish curriculum immerses students in language and culture through engaging, age-appropriate activities, introducing students to what it means to live successfully as global citizens in a linguistically and culturally pluralistic world. This approach is scaffolded for each grade, through the Alba y Gael elementary Spanish Curriculum.

Beginning in Pre-K and continuing through Fourth Grade, students develop listening, speaking, reading, and early writing skills while gaining an appreciation for diverse Spanish-speaking cultures.

Through songs, storytelling, projects, and celebrations, our program builds confidence in communication and nurtures a love for the Spanish language and its cultures.

Focus on greetings, colors, shapes, numbers, songs, and simple vocabulary through stories like Elmer and La oruga glotona. Students explore cultural traditions such as Día de los Muertos, Navidad, and Sant Jordi.
Build conversational skills, expand vocabulary (family, clothing, weather, body parts), and reinforce numbers, days of the week, and shapes through stories, songs, and games. Cultural awareness grows through literature and projects.
Strengthen grammar and comprehension with high-frequency verbs (Super 7), thematic units on family, hobbies, and art, and interactive reading such as Brandon Brown quiere un perro. Students engage in creative writing, cultural projects, and presentations.
