Available to: grade 12 students

Special Notes: This yearlong course may be taken for just the fall semester, or just the spring semester, or for both. If taken for just a semester, the course must be paired with another arts course before graduation in order to fulfill Stevenson’s diploma requirement. To fulfill the “f” arts admissions requirement for the UC and Cal State schools, the second course should also be in the theater discipline.

Are you a senior who wants to experience performing in a school play—but you never can because of your other school commitments—or you just haven’t yet summoned the courage to brave the stage? Then this is the course for you and your peers! The goal of this course is to further the theatrical experience for the acting student and to welcome the “non-acting student” into our theater spaces. You will read plays, collaborate with peers and choose material with the guidance of the teacher. Acting theory will be aligned with the project selected. The class will culminate with a community performance of a play or a selection of scenes with a corresponding theme. Give it a shot!
